Full screen vertical photo and video ads are now available on Instagram. These ads will appear in the Stories section of the app. Stories are Instagram’s collections of photos and videos that are only available for a 24-hour period (think Snapchat).
For now, the only objective is reach but we expect more objectives to become available soon. Any call to action will come from creative and there is not an opportunity to send people to websites or the app store yet.
Instagram Stories campaigns had been in beta and running through Facebook Marketing Partners up until March 1.
It’s been added to the Ads Manager and Power Editor and can be bought self-serve through Facebook, although Facebook Marketing Partners are tasked by Facebook to build innovation and have unique opportunities with IG Stories not available via the dashboard.
Instagram Stories boasts 150 million daily users, the majority of which watch Stories with the sound on.
